Clay Creations: From Wheel to Fire with Melisa Cadell Camp Description This dynamic 5-day workshop introduces students to throwing, hand-building, and smoke-firing processes, culminating in a fun and creative Throwing Olympics and a pit-firing. The camp combines skill-building, creativity, and experimentation, offering students a memorable and educational clay experience! About the Instructor Melisa Cadell is a contemporary artist and educator living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Cadell's work frequently explores themes of social justice, resilience, and the complexities of the human condition. In addition to her studio practice, Melisa is a dedicated educator, guiding students in translating thought into sculptural form. Her work, ranging from small-scale studies to life-sized pieces, has been showcased in numerous galleries and publications, highlighting her innovative approach to figurative sculpture and storytelling. A few important specifics Age: Your child's age must fall within the age range specified for the workshop before it begins. If your child is within a month of the cutoff date and you feel they would be able to fit in with the group, you may email [email protected] to request special consideration. Medical Information: If your child has accessibility needs, allergies, food sensitivities, etc. you must indicate this in the “Medical Information” section and also speak to the instructor at the beginning of the camp. Cancellation Policy: If you cancel anytime up to 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, you will receive a refund minus the $25 nonrefundable processing fee. If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, refunds are not available.
