Camp Description

Set off on a voyage to explore the wonders of the ocean. We'll learn about the creatures who live in and around the ocean through crafts, music, stories, and play. We may even see a few mermaids and pirates along the way!

About the Instructor

Christine Henry is a teacher at the Spruce Pine Montessori School and has taught Kids’ Camp at Penland for many years.

A few important specifics

• Age: Your child's age must fall within the age range specified for the workshop before it begins. If your child is within a month of the cutoff date and you feel they would be able to fit in with the group, you may email [email protected] to request special consideration.

• Medical Information: If your child has accessibility needs, allergies, food sensitivities, etc. you must indicate this in the “Medical Information” section and also speak to the instructor at the beginning of the camp.

• Toileting: Children must be toileting independently in order to attend kids camp. We do not accompany children into the restroom and we are not equipped to handle accidents. 

• Cancellation Policy: If you cancel anytime up to 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, you will receive a refund minus the $25 nonrefundable processing fee. If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, refunds are not available.
