This is a one week, half-day camp, running Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Participants must be 6 years and 11 months to 10 years old when the program starts.
Camp Description Do you love a particular book, movie, game, comic book, or cartoon? If so, join me in recreating your favorite characters in our Fan Art Camp. Together, we will trace and free-hand draw these characters in new scenarios with daily prompts. We will make comic book pages, tiny books, buttons, magnets and design our own posters. Learn simple drawing techniques with pencil, pens and colored pencils as well as painting techniques with watercolor and POSCA markers. Learn how to create art through what you already love. Let’s make art together by being fans! About the Instructor Lori Brook Johnson is the Teaching Artist in the Schools at Penland School of Craft. She received her MFA at Clemson University and continues her studio practice in her home studio. A few important specifics Age: Your child's age must fall within the age range specified for the workshop before it begins. If your child is within a month of the cutoff date and you feel they would be able to fit in with the group, you may email [email protected] to request special consideration. Medical Information: If your child has accessibility needs, allergies, food sensitivities, etc. you must indicate this in the “Medical Information” section and also speak to the instructor at the beginning of the camp. Cancellation Policy: If you cancel anytime up to 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, you will receive a refund minus the $25 nonrefundable processing fee. If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, refunds are not available.
