Camp Description This dynamic 5-day workshop introduces students to throwing, hand-building, and printmaking on clay. Challenge yourself to throw pots that are tiny, tall, wide and square. The camp combines skill-building, creativity, and experimentation, offering students a memorable and educational clay experience! Students’ work will be fired and taken home at the end of the camp week. About the Instructor Melisa Cadell is a contemporary artist and educator living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Her figurative sculptures are known for their unique expression, and her work frequently explores themes of social justice, resilience, and the complexities of the human condition. In addition to her studio practice, Melisa is a dedicated educator, guiding students in translating thought into sculptural form. She has worked with students from K-12, universities and professional levels. She is honored to work with and learn from them all. A few important specifics Age: Your child's age must fall within the age range specified for the workshop before it begins. If your child is within a month of the cutoff date and you feel they would be able to fit in with the group, you may email [email protected] to request special consideration. Medical Information: If your child has accessibility needs, allergies, food sensitivities, etc. you must indicate this in the “Medical Information” section and also speak to the instructor at the beginning of the camp. Cancellation Policy: If you cancel anytime up to 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, you will receive a refund minus the $25 nonrefundable processing fee. If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, refunds are not available.
