Camp Description

Embark on a voyage of your imagination and into outer space! We'll create our own planets, astronaut or robot costumes, and a miniature lunar or planetary playscape with aliens. We'll also make a rocket ship or space shuttle for our diorama and launch a few rockets into the air. Books and music will help us learn about our solar system and the cosmos. Let your imagination carry you on a stellar journey and beyond!

About the Instructor

Christine Henry loves to incorporate art, imagination, science, craft, theatrical elements, and skill building into her camps and projects. She has been teaching Penland Kid's Camps for two plus decades and teaches 3-6 year old children at The Spruce Pine Montessori School. She has two grown children who grew up spending magical summers at Penland camps.

A few important specifics

• Age: Your child's age must fall within the age range specified for the workshop before it begins. If your child is within a month of the cutoff date and you feel they would be able to fit in with the group, you may email [email protected] to request special consideration.

• Medical Information: If your child has accessibility needs, allergies, food sensitivities, etc. you must indicate this in the “Medical Information” section and also speak to the instructor at the beginning of the camp.

• Toileting: Children must be toileting independently in order to attend kids camp. We do not accompany children into the restroom and we are not equipped to handle accidents. 

• Cancellation Policy: If you cancel anytime up to 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, you will receive a refund minus the $25 nonrefundable processing fee. If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the beginning of a camp or workshop, refunds are not available.
